Planning for the spring banquet will be expedited pending advisement of the date and speaker by the University of Tennessee Alumni Association (UTAA).
Other events the chapter is considering for the non football season months are a bowling tournament with other southeastern conference university alumni chapters, a night at a Jacksonville Suns baseball game, and quarterly socials (happy hours).
The chapter has been invited to be represented, at a special college fair at Ponte Vedra High School on April 19, 2012.
Other items discussed included a possible special license plate program similar to one in Georgia (where certain license plates contain a small orange “UT”), a Tournament Players Championship (TPC) group sales program, and new business cards for the chapter.

Ed Galvavy has volunteered to participate in the college fair scheduled for October 15 2011 from 9am until 1pm.
A motion passed unanimously for the chapter to pursue an update of the bylaws to allow electronic voting by the chapter membership on new officers and board members. This update is needed because of the change of operations to a calendar year basis and the fact that current bylaws call for the election to be held at the spring banquet. Also discussed were the slate of officer nominees for 2012 and the search for new board members.
The chapter’s annual food drive will take place at the MTSU game viewing party on November 5.

The 2011 football game viewing parties will be held at the Tilted Kilt, at 9720 Deer Lake Court, Jacksonville in the Tinseltown area.
The nomination and election process for 2012 officers and board members has been delayed until this fall due to the increased number of board vacancies and that operations beginning in 2012 will be on a calendar basis.
By unanimous vote, the fall event / wine tasting party will be held at Urban Flats at 9726 Touchton Road, Jacksonville from 3pm until 6pm on August 27. This is also in the Tinseltown area. The cost per person will be $15.
By unanimous vote the chapter’s web site will be renovated.

By unanimous vote it was decided that a combined fall event / wine tasting party will again be held this year probably in late August.
There was a detailed discussion on finding a location for the 2011 football game viewing parties. As soon as a location has been selected, it will be posted on the chapter’s web site – www.jaxvols.com.
Also discussed were board meeting attendance / absenteeism, and the timing for nomination / election of 2012 officers and board members in view of the recent conversion to a calendar year mode of operation.

Viewing parties are proposed for the following basketball games:
Tenn. vs Vanderbilt (women) Feb 13, 5 pm
Tenn. vs Mississippi State (men), Feb. 26, 6 pm
Tenn vs Kentucky (men), March 6, Noon
There may an additional viewing party for a NCAA tournament.
Since Times Grill restaurants in Jacksonville have closed, a new site for viewing parties will need to be found. The location(s) for the above basketball viewing parties will be posted on the chapter web site – www.jaxvols.com as soon as this information is available.
The UT singers will perform in Jacksonville on Saturday March 12. This will also be the chapter’s spring event. The establishment of a location and other details are currently being planned and when complete will also appear on the chapter’s web site.
Also discussed were the gold chapter tier program and the 2011 fall kick-off party.
