A slate of officer nominees for 2010/2011 with the exception of the president elect was approved unanimously. Board Meeting Summary
Location: Cracker Barrel
Date: April 13, 2010
Discussions were conducted on the spring banquet scheduled for April 26 at Maggiano’s Restaurant.
A wine tasting event targeting young alumni is being considered in mid-June.
Since the current terms of officers and board members are being extended from May until August to eventually achieve calendar operation like the UTAA, the development of a slate of nominees for 2010 / 2011 has been delayed but will be accomplished to allow board approval at the July meeting.
Also discussed were the recent Annual Leadership Conference and Awards Banquet (where the chapter was presented a certificate for being an outstanding Two Star chapter for 2009 / 2010) and a Facebook page for the chapter.
Board Meeting Summary
Location: Times Grill, 13500 Beach Blvd
Date: January 12, 2010
Jennifer Hendrich, Ed Galbury, Frances Tyler, and Matt Defflemy were welcomed as new board members.
Planning for the spring banquet continues. A more reasonably priced venue than some country clubs contacted is desired for a high turn out.
In addition to the spring banquet, a wine tasting party is being considered as a young alumni event.
Although the Times Grill has proven to be an excellent location for viewing parties, conversation among the 16 attendees at this meeting was difficult due to normal restaurant noise. Future board meetings will be held elsewhere preferably at a restaurant with a private room. The board will be kept up to date by email on this matter.
The availability of a block of from 6 to 8 tickets for the lady vols versus Florida basketball game in Gainesville on January 14 was announced.
